Florence will definitely go on the must-return-to list, and Saturday morning we boarded the train for Naples. With the sun shining, it was a pleasant trip through the charming Tuscan countryside. We've heard from everyone, including every Italian we've met, to be on guard for pickpockets who work the Naples train station, so we were on high alert when we got off the train. Fortunately, our driver met us right away, and off we went, with all our belongings.
If charming is my word for Tuscany, then incredible will be my word for Positano. We traveled over incredibly narrow and winding roads to the Amalfi coast and Positano. And around each turn we were met with another incredible view!
All the villages on the Amalfi coast are built into the hillsides, and it was an incredibly steep climb down to the hotel from where our driver had to drop us off. Fortunately, a porter took the bags down!
Our incredibly lovely hotel is right on the beach, and we have a balcony with an incredible view. Masses of beautiful petunias have an incredible fragrance, I didn't know that
A hillside of lights twinkling at night has an incredible effect!
This morning we took a tour by boat of the coast from Positano to Amalfi, with Stefano, our boat driver. Of course it is picturesque, and incredible! Our photos can be never do justice to the water, which is several incredible shades of blue.
But this afternoon, just because we can, and the pool is so incredible, we've spent the afternoon relaxing.
And Positano is incredibly expensive, but the shops are so lovely!
Most importantly, I'm incredibly blessed to be spending this glorious day with Greg in Positano, and to be the mother of two incredibly thoughtful children who had flowers sent to our room this morning. Happy Mother's Day!

Lise, your photos are stunning and the commentary brings it all to life. I'm really enjoying your blog! What great documentation of an incredible "epic adventure!"
