The 50 States Club

We are on the road again! 

Stephen really never stopped flying and traveling but the rest of us can’t even remember when we were last on a plane. Traveling, yes, but always within driving distance. We have been dreaming about a trip to Michigan so I could get to 50 states visited. Then when Stephen got to 49 the summer of 2020, before starting his MBA program, getting to Michigan, also his 50th, moved way up the priority list.  

So here we are, jammed between my retirement and Stephen’s graduation, and whatever he does next! It’s a mighty team with current 50 States Clubbers Greg and Anne, and Stephen, Elizabeth and me. Of course we are thinking so much of Mom and UE without whom none of us would even be doing this! 

I’m so far out of the travel mindset that I didn’t even think of blogging until this evening and I have just a few photos of the main attraction to share.

We flew into Detroit and grabbed luggage while Stephen picked up the car, and headed right off for Traverse City, in the pouring rain. We finally stopped at this rest stop to get the photo!

So exciting for us to have reached this milestone!

After a nice dinner overlooking the lake, and a stop for wine and beer, we are planning an early start on a full day. I’ll be better at taking photos tomorrow!
