The Green Monstah

Better late than never! This little trip was in the fall of 2013, and I started, but never finished, my post. So now . . .

When we knew that we would be visiting Mom during her two week stay in Bar Harbor, and traveling through Boston, it seemed the perfect opportunity to take Elizabeth to Fenway, a long-time dream of hers. In third grade her PE teacher, Mr. Goggin, turned her in to a Red Sox fan, go figure! So the planning began, and came to fruition this weekend. . .

Greg, Stephen, Elizabeth and I flew up to Boston Friday night. What a beautiful night to fly! We watched the full moon rise as we headed north, and it was shining brightly over Boston when we arrived. Of course, it will only live on in my memory, the photos just didn't turn out!

Up bright and early Saturday morning, we took the hop-on, hop-off tour around the city.

Boston is a great city, and we enjoyed seeing and hearing about it. After the tour, we walked through the Boston Public Gardens, where we stopped to feed the ducks.

We followed the river, and went into Beacon Hill looking for a place for lunch and ended up at an outdoor cafe near the state capital.

From there we hopped back on the trolley and went to the Boston Tea Party Museum.

It is an interactive museum, and lots of fun. Here's treasonous Stephen dumping tea into the harbor!

After a quick bite of dinner, we headed over to Fenway.

Of course, we got there early and HAD to go into the shop first. Greg and Stephen went on in to the ballpark while Eliz and I finished with our purchases. Once done, we walked over and I stopped to ask a staff person how to get to our seats, and he said that we were REALLY going to enjoy our seats, and he was right! Just rows back from the Red Sox dugout! Yay!

Quite a thrill for us all!
