1842

That's the number of miles we traveled, from Portland to San Francisco. We're in Atlanta now, having completed the first leg of the journey home.

Yesterday we toured San Francisco on a hop on/hop off bus, which was a great way for the six of us to get around to all the "touristic" sights. It was a beautiful day, "a heat wave" we kept hearing, with the temperature in the low 70's, under a cloudless blue sky.

Alcatraz from Fort Point, another stamp!

Riding over the Golden Gate Bridge on the open upper level of a double decker bus was a different experience!

Elizabeth and the Painted Ladies (one of which is the Full House house, we're not sure yet which one it is) at Alamo Square

After the tour we moved to a hotel close to the airport, turned in cars, and had a relaxing dinner watching planes land and depart. An early early flight out of San Francisco, with a lay over in Atlanta, and then it's back to the real world. As lovely as a family vacation is, it's always good to get home.
